An app for awkward situations
As its name suggests, Fake Text Message is a free lifestyle app that allows you to send and receive a dummy text to yourself. It's a great way to help you get out of uncomfortable situations since you can customize the message and write something that seems like it needs urgent attention.
You can also customize the name of the sender to make the text more believable. Fake Text Message also saves all the dummy exchanges you made under its Message History section. You’ll see all the names of the senders you made and the messages you made for each of them.
How to use the app
Generating messages with the Fake Text Message app is easy. Simply type the name you want and the message you want to receive in their respective spaces. You can choose the message type — receive or send — and the time delay of the dummy text. There is also a custom option for the time delay, though you can only customize it by minutes.
Tap on Schedule Text and you will receive the fake message within the time you set. You can also cancel the text, if there's anything you want to edit, and save the fields so you don't have to type the details again the next time you use the app. Once you receive the message, you will be taken to a chat box where you can reply to it.
Note that you can only reply to the fake text as the receiver. That means if you want to pretend to get a response from the sender, you'll have to go back to the main screen and type another message. Meanwhile, there’s an unusable feature of this app: the call icon in the chat box. Tapping on it doesn't do anything, meaning you can’t use it to pretend to call the sender.
Get out of unpleasant situations
If you ever find yourself stuck in a situation you don't want to be in, just use Fake Text Message. Send yourself a seemingly urgent message from an important person that requires your immediate attention with the app. Set the time delay so you can receive it at the most opportune moment. However, keep in mind that the custom option can only be set by minutes.
